Hi! My name is Julie, and I am from Eagan, MN. I am a Communication Arts major with a focus in television/film. My hometown is a suburb of Minneapolis/St. Paul, however, I feel it lacks diversity. I am excited to learn about other ethnic backgrounds and contribute to the discussion on the digital divide in this class. Hmmm, other comments about me. I am a golfer and absolutely love it. ReplyDeleteI totally agree with what you said about Eagan, Minnesota. Not that I've ever been there, but I feel the same about where I'm from (Eau Claire). It totally lacks diversity! I am also looking forward to learn about other ethnic backgrounds.

ReplyDeleteI think it its interesting how you described Eagan as being a suburb of Minneapolis/St. Paul but lacking diversity. I would have assumed since you are so close to a larger city that there would be more diversity in Eagan. But, since it will be interesting to see if you have been to the Twin Cities at all and have any examples, that are relevant to this class, of how minorities are effected.
hey i am from the twin cities too! lakeville more specifically. I agree with you though, I feel that there is not much diversity and knowledge of other cultures in the suburbs like our hometowns. But, I think there is a lot more ethnic richness in St. Paul/Minneapolis, obviously because they are much larger cities, which is cool.
